This year we were delighted to have highly recommended and renowned Pescatore Restaurant at The George Hotel in Christchurch as our premier sponsor. The Premier Award for tableware was selected by this year’s selector, Jennifer Turnbull, (a well experienced potter with training in cordon bleu which makes her a perfect choice for tableware selection) from Kapiti Coast and she will be assisted in choosing the Premier Award by Pescatore restaurant, Chef de Cuisine.

The Chef de Cuisine created food to be presented on the winning tableware piece/set at a ticketed event of a 5 course degustation meal and wine match at Pescatore. The art on a plate event will be after the exhibition opening at the Canterbury Museum on the evening 13th June. There was a photographer there to take photos of the dish/item/menu served in or on the winning plate ware at the event.

The premier award winning potter was invited to attend and also has the opportunity to stay for the night at a Premium Executive Room at The George Hotel. The premium award winner also was invited to go along with the Chef de Cuisine on a foraging session. (to be arranged at a suitable time)

Ceramics Association of New Zealand

Registered as an incorporated society in 1965 by an enthusiastic group of potters in Wellington, New Zealand, Ceramics NZ has grown to become a significant international voice in New Zealand ceramics. The affiliation of about three dozen independent pottery clubs throughout New Zealand together with a number of corporate businesses greatly increases its effective membership. We are a national, not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of practising potters and ceramicists, students of ceramics and all those interested in New Zealand ceramics. We actively support and promote quality, and we encourage and support specialist ceramics education nationally.
