55th National Exhibition
Ceramics NZ - Exhibiting - Opportunities

This first conference under the new name Ceramics NZ will be held next year at Trentham Gardens, 10 Racecourse Rd, Trentham, Upper Hutt 

It will be held in tandem with the 59th National Exhibition which will be held at Expressions Whirinaki Arts and Entertainment Centre, 836 Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt. 

The programme of events will include:
  • Pre- and post-conference master classes
  • Friday night 59th National Exhibition opening
  • Demonstrations by notable local and overseas potters and ceramic artists
  • Firings
  • Lectures or forums
  • Trade stalls
  • Self-selected show and tell exhibition for participants and demonstrators
  • Monday optional bus tour of local pottery studios and sites of interest to potters
  • Social festivities for everyone to mix and mingle
  • The AGM of the Ceramics NZ.

The Rick Rudd Foundation invites entries for the $10,000 Emerging Practitioner in Clay Award

The Trustees of the Rick Rudd Foundation are pleased to announce the inaugural Emerging Practitioner in Clay Award.

$10,000 will be awarded to the entrant selected by the trustees, studio potter, Rick Rudd; ceramic artist and co-owner of Rayner Brothers Gallery, Paul Rayner and IT consultant and art collector with a focus on ceramics, Tom Seaman.

The Trustees would appreciate the attached information and entry form being passed on to anyone who may be interested.

Ceramics Association of New Zealand

Registered as an incorporated society in 1965 by an enthusiastic group of potters in Wellington, New Zealand, Ceramics NZ has grown to become a significant international voice in New Zealand ceramics. The affiliation of about three dozen independent pottery clubs throughout New Zealand together with a number of corporate businesses greatly increases its effective membership. We are a national, not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of practising potters and ceramicists, students of ceramics and all those interested in New Zealand ceramics. We actively support and promote quality, and we encourage and support specialist ceramics education nationally.
